About Us

Like most people, Scott and Gale have enjoyed pets since they were kids. They have worked professionally in the pet industry since 1993. As a part of their professional experience, Scott ran the 22,000 sq. ft. Petropolis Pet Center in St. Louis, MO. as General Manager, and Gale served as a department manager, and later on as Practice Manager for a Veterinarian in Austin, TX.

Gale has been raising and showing Aussies since 1994, and has competed in Conformation in the U.K. and Obedience, Agility, and Conformation in the US. Our 6 Australian Shepherds have more than 50 competition titles, and Gale has qualified for the Australian Shepherd Nationals 3 times.

Gale and Scott built and ran a very successful Boarding facility in Phoenix AZ. In three years they grew the business to several hundred clients and had more than 7,500 pet-stay-days in their last year of operation before relocating to Rhode Island. Yet another job change, allowed Scott and Gale to relocate to Morehead KY and they opened Tin Woof Inn in August of 2007. Gale’s family (her maiden name is Baldridge) is from the Morehead area and her parents, sister and brother-in-law and loads of aunts, uncles and cousins reside in the area. Since opening the facility in the Morehead area, Tin Woof Inn has had more than 29,000 pet-stay-days since 2007.

Our Dogs

We own 6 Australian Shepherds and in the past have owned and raised Labrador Retrievers, Shelties, Old English Sheep dogs, Border Collies and various mutts.

• Bishop (Shalako’s Bishop of Peppertree AX, AXJ, AAD, EAC, EGC, OJC, TG-O, CGC, STDs) is a 11 year old blue merle with agility and herding titles, and major pointed in ASCA. He is very sweet, but cautious around strangers, and becomes Dr Jekyll when around livestock. Bishop is now retired
• Turner (Turnagain’s Take Note AX, AXJ, EAC, EGC, EJC, TG-O) is a 10 year old red merle wild child from Alaska.  She is very sweet, great to take on walks, and when she sees livestock…runs the other way!
• Catcher (Shadowrun’s Caught in the Sun CGC) is an 8 year old red tri and an active Certified Therapy Dog.  He took Reserve Winner’s Dog two years in a row at ASCA nationals (’06 and ’07) and has the most gentle personality you can imagine.  He loves to jump up in bed with nursing home residents and give them a hearty lick on the face.
• Asa (CH Shalako’s Windchasar AX, MXJ, AD, NAC, NGC, NJC), he is now a champion! He is a beautiful 6 year old black tri who is always eager to please and demonstrates more than 10 tricks in Gale’s training classes. In 2007 he ranked first place in 20” Excellent A JWW by USASA. He was awarded 1st place Open Black Dog at ASCA Nationals in 2006, at the age of two. He has a promising agility and conformation career underway.
• Yuma (Templar’s son of the Chief) is now a 1 year old blue merle Aussie male.  He was our pick from Asa’s first litter. He is a very sweet, smart boy and is currently in agility training.  He has his dad’s great temperament and drive and we expect big things from Yuma as he matures.
• Giggle (Shalako’s Easily Amused) was our pick from Asa’s second litter.  She is a little firecracker and cute as a button. She is a smaller, more feminine version of Asa, with a little more laid back personality. She is currently attending doggie daycare and puppy kindergarten classes.

In Memory Of…

Midi (MACH ATCH-OP NATCH Shalako’s Sound Byte), is a 10 year old black tri with dozens of agility titles.  She holds a CGC and is an active Certified Pet Therapy Dog. She is the best dog we have ever had (don’t tell the other dogs) and is a fearless, loyal, smart typical Aussie. Unfortunately, Midi  passed away in April 2010.  She was one of the best dogs ever and is missed every day.
